We’ll be honest, we’d enter any competition to win a wheel of Jarlsberg® cheese. Just imagine – a whole 10kg of creamy, sweet, nutty cheese. But this competition’s even better than that because Jarlsberg is a sponsor of the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon (it is a great snack for runners after all, thanks in part to its stonking protein content, 27g per 100g) and is offering one lucky Coach reader two places on the starting line (for you and a friend, you don’t have to run the course twice). There are also ten runners-up prizes of a Jarlsberg cheese goody bag up for grabs.

The Royal Parks Half Marathon is an ideal race for any runner. It’s many people’s first half, because the relatively flat course means no hills to struggle up. The route is exceptionally picturesque, starting in Hyde Park before passing through Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens, and taking in sights such as Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament. Plus, you get to train during the summer months (pity people who are “lucky” enough to bag a place on the London Marathon – their training starts in the freezing depths of winter).

Places in the Royal Parks Half are also prized by more experienced runners who use the flat course and “Goldilocks” conditions of late summer/early autumn (that’s not too hot, not too cold) to aim for a new personal best.

So what are you waiting for? Enter our competition now. The competition closes at 12pm on Monday 17th July and winners will be notified by Tuesday 18th July, just in time to start a 12-week training plan.
