Fancy yourself as a bit of a survivalist? Why not put yourself to the test Bear Grylls style and see what you’re really made of.  Bear Grylls Survival Academy are launching a new four day ‘Survival in the Lowlands’ course in Dartmoor this winter and it’s certain to put even the most grizzled of survivalists to the test.

Offering a rare chance for outdoor enthusiasts from around the globe to learn Bear’s extreme survival techniques, it’s as challenging as it is rewarding. The location, with its difficult terrain, rivers, steep ascents and undulating countryside will push you to the limit, while teaching you the fundamentals of extreme survival. The course is based on the five day ‘Survival in the Highlands’ course, located in one of the last true wilderness areas of the British Isles, Scotland, which runs during the summer months.

“So many people have asked me over the years where they can learn extreme, practical survival - the type that requires spirit, determination and the skills to self-rescue against the odds, in some of the harshest terrain around. So it is with great pride that we can now launch these exciting additions to the Bear Grylls Survival Academy portfolio and empower participants with some of these skills and what it really means to be able to look after yourself when the chips are down,” says Bear Grylls. “Oh, and it may hurt a little.”

The cost per person for the ‘Survival in the Lowlands’ course is £999 for 4 days (not including flights or transfers) and the course will culminate in a challenging 24 hour expedition where participants will be taken on a low-level tactical helicopter flight to an unknown desolate drop zone in the middle of nowhere.
