Bulk-building toast Hawaii snack
By Coach Staff published
This tasty snack will help you get a physique like ripped Hawaiian surf legend Laird Hamilton

What's in it
1 slice of wholemeal bread, toasted
1 slice of ham
1 pineapple ring
1 slice of reduced-fat cheese
Curry powder
Pepper
What to do
Lay the ham, cheese and pineapple ring on top of the toast and season with some curry powder and pepper. Grill until the cheese is melted.
Why it works
Wholemeal bread is full of carbs, which will instantly replenish your glycogen stores and encourage your body to hold on to protein (opens in new tab) and build new muscle. Eating ham will boost your protein, iron and creatine supplies, providing your muscles with the building blocks needed for strength. Pineapple is rich in bromelin. This enzyme will help your body digest protein and relieve post-training aches and pains. Cheese is full of protein and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a naturally occurring fatty acid proven to build muscle and reduce body fat. Curry powder will stimulate fat metabolism and heal sore muscles.
