It never hurts to have a few healthy meals ready to go in your freezer, whether that’s to help ensure you avoid a takeaway on busy weeknights when you haven’t had time to cook. Or to see you through to your next big shop during the COVID-19 lockdown, of course, because there comes a point when your ingenuity runs dry and you can’t work out how to construct a tasty dinner using the cans at the back of the cupboard.
So we’re pleased to see that our favourite fresh meal delivery service – Fresh Fitness Food (opens in new tab) – has expanded its repertoire to include frozen meals (opens in new tab) as well. This means you don’t need to commit to the full daily delivery experience and just pull out a healthy meal whenever suits. The meals on offer are taken from its fresh range and include tasty delights like beef massaman curry, lean turkey bolognese and a coq au vin dish that uses a chicken substitute so it’s suitable for vegans.
The meals come in biodegradable tubs and can be prepared in under ten minutes, which is way faster than any takeaway service can get to you.

Fresh Fitness Food’s usual service is designed to help you meet your fitness goals, whether that’s to lose weight, bulk up or maintain weight during an intense training schedule. All the frozen meals available are healthy options and are clearly marked with tags like high protein, low carb and low calorie, along with detailed macronutrient info, so you can easily pick the options that suit your aims.
The meals cost between £7.50 and £8.50, but they’re all reduced to £6 or £7 for the launch. Along with meals, Fresh Fitness Food is also selling frozen savoury and sweet snacks, and juices (£4 each), so you can open the freezer instead of the biscuit tin between meals.
You have to order a minimum of six meals at a time and you’ll be given a delivery date when you type in your postcode at the checkout (for us, in greater London, this was next day). You can also choose to donate three meals to Age UK at a discounted price of £15 at the checkout to help elderly people during the COVID-19 crisis, which is a great idea. Fresh Fitness Food is starting things off with a donation of 100 meals.
