Originally developed by the Israeli special forces, krav maga is a no-frills self-defence system that emphasises attacking and defending simultaneously, using an attacker’s strengthagainst them and getting out of trouble fast.

Krav maga ignores fancy cartwheels and flash turns in favour of quick, effective moves that include defences against armed opponents – and was the basis for Batman and Bourne’s fighting styles intheir most recent movie outings.

It’s also the fighting style used by Sam Fisher in the upcoming videogame Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction (out on the 16th of April). To get a taste of some of the moves used in the game, the developer, Ubisoft, invited MF to krav maga workshop. Check out the video.
