The fight of last weekend was without doubt the bout between san shou master Cung Le and Rocky-style brawler Scott Smith in MMA promotion Strikeforce. At their Evolution show to be precise. Le plays Marshall Law in the upcoming film version of Tekken and certainly fights like a videogame character, constantly landing side kicks and spinning hook kicks that most fighters wouldn't even dare to try. Smith, meanwhile, is probably best known for his last-ditch victory over fellow brawler Pete Sell in the Ultimate Fighter 4 finale - his trademark is coming forward like a Terminator and finding a way to win. We won't give away the result here, but it's worth watching if you can. Here's the Smith vs Sell fight:

At the lighter weights, WEC was the place to look for a no-holds-barred scrap. WEC favourite Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone scored an impressive win over Ed Ratcliffe at WEC 45, marred only slightly by him losing two points for unintentional groin strikes. On the same card, Britain's own Brad 'One Punch' Picket showed that he's more than a one-dimensional slugger by beating Kyle Dietz with an ultra-slick Peruvian necktie. Check it out above.

In the UFC, the big news is that Matt Hughes will likely be taking on Renzo Gracie at the UFC's first event in Abu Dhabi next year. Matt's beaten Renzo's cousin Royce, but Renzo submitted Matt Hughes' former coach Pat Miletich, so it will be an interesting fight.

Back in the UK, the main story is the surprise signing of MF favourite 'Judo' Jim Walhead to upstart promotion Bellator, where he'll be fighting in a welterweight tournament that starts in April. A former national youth judo champion, Walhead was turned down for the ninth season of the Ultimate Fighter due to being 'too experienced'. You can see him beating up one MF writer in the Jan/Feb 2010 issue, which is on sale right now.
