1-2tbsp organic raw cocoa powder

Its natural stimulants caffeine and theobromine increase brain energy and cognition. The high flavonol content in cocoa has moreover been shown to increase the cerebral blood flow to your grey matter. Raw cocoa is also high in magnesium, and elevated levels of magnesium in the brain are linked with improved learning and memory.

1-2tbsp pecan nuts

They’re rich in omega 3 fatty acids, which have important structural and biochemical roles in the brain and may play a vital role in enhancing memory. They also contain zinc, which can help learning and memory.

1tbsp hemp protein powder

Proteins, in particular the amino acid tyrosine, increase the concentration of dopamine, a brain chemical associated with mental alertness. Hemp protein powder also contains a well-balanced blend of essential fatty acids such as omega 3 and omega 6, which help build vital membranes of nerve cells within the brain.

2 ripe bananas (frozen for extra creaminess)

Another great source of tyrosine, and therefore a promoter of dopamine production.

1tsp Gotu kola powder

Gotu kola (centella asiatica) is a brain tonic with a positive effect on memory and cognitive function. Gotu kola may moreover stimulate circulation and therefore delivery of nutrients to the brain. Get it from health food shops.
